Licensing

Some people get into the music business for the glamour, some do it for the fame. Others do it for the groupies and easy access to drugs. What is often lost in all of this is the business side of the music business. The fact is, some people get into the music business to (gasp!) make money. At Tough Customer we’re happy to help, by any means necessary.  We seek to place your instrumental music and master tracks in TV, film, and advertising. In most cases there is not a lot of glory, but there is syndication. And where’s there’s syndication there is a steady paycheck.

It’s easy money, and Tough Customer Music can help you get it. We have an inside line to producers and music supervisors on both coasts, and we send them library updates on a regular basis. If you’ve got instrumental tracks that you want to put to work, then let us know. That is, unless you really love your day job.

Publishing

Tough Customer Music is an ASCAP affiliated and  indie-artist-approved music publishing company in its own right. In conjunction with our licensing services, we create unique publishing agreements with unsigned artists that help them get the most out of our promotional efforts. This allows us to present a large and varied catalog of previously undiscovered tracks to the content creators we have relationships with, resulting in more picks of the songs we represent more often. It’s a win/win situation that, in the world of syndication, keeps winning.

If you’re a songwriter or copyright holder who’d like to find out more about our music publishing services, don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re primarily looking for innovative unsigned artists with separate instrumental tracks, but we’re happy to listen to anything. Likewise, if you’re an ad agency, music supervisor, filmmaker or TV producer who’d like to inquire about our catalog, contact us here. We’re happy to make our entire catalog available for browsing, or you can work with our in-house music supervisor to find the right piece that matches your show, website, or ad campaign.
